Vocational Institute

Christ for the Poor’s Vocational Institute, located in Managua, Nicaragua, offers technical training in Basic and Advanced Electronics and Cell Phone Repair. The Vocational Institute provides young people with limited financial means for an education they can use to earn a successful living in these valuable trades.

Vocational Institue Class
Students, upon completion of the four-month program, are able to repair and/or troubleshoot problems with electrical and electronic equipment. The Institute covers topics in the areas of: Transistors, Integrated Circuits, Resistors, Inductors, Amplifiers, and Device Design and Applications.

Along with classes in electronics, the Vocational Institute also offers classes in the areas of the humanities and spirituality in order to give the students a perspective that they may not receive anywhere else.

CFP believes that education is the only avenue that exists for young people to leave the circle of misery in which they live. We believe that the vocational courses that we offer contribute to a positive change of environment for our students;  they can see that there are other options for life beyond the mountains of garbage in places like La Chureca.

Sponsoring a young student at our Vocational Institute is an important way to help our enthusiastic and motivated young people achieve success in the program.  To find out more about our students and our program and how you can become a sponsor, please visit our Institute’s News Page.

I deeply thank all the Christ for the Poor team. . . .For the boys who study electronics, it is perhaps the only glimmer of hope that they will have for a long time to accomplish their goals, dreams and hopes. (They) are full of joy, intelligence and creativity. . . there are very few  economic resources and therefore, I'm sure they will take advantage of the opportunities offered now.

Today, I'm in a new  phase of my life. I’m studying for my MA in Marketing and Communications, at the University of Valencia, Spain. This truly is from God, because I won a scholarship from the Bancaja Foundation. But it could not have been possible without the help of friendly hands that have given me this opportunity to grow. On behalf of the boys from the electronic course, I thank you very much for your efforts, dedication and for your commitment to the poorest.

They looked unto him and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
